Since 1985, the Director of the National Institute of Swimming (NIS),

Since 1985, the Director of the National Institute of Swimming (NIS), Dr.Jaiprakash Duble, is working in the field of Open Water Swimming. Swimmers trained by him have participated in International Swimming Marathon, Zurich, English Channel(England), Strait of Gibraltar(Spain), Palk Strait(Sri-Lanka-India) and brought laurels to India.

Along with these, swimmers trained by him have also participated in 81km World Longest Open Water Swimming Competition, West Bengal, Chorwad to Veraval(36 km) Sea Swimming Race, Sea Swimming Competition at Kudal (Dist.Sindhudurg Maharashtra), Hooghly River National Swimming Competition at Kolkata, Sunk Rock to Gateway of India Sea Swimming Race, Adventure Expedition in Arabian Sea at Mumbai and Goa, etc and gave their best performance.
